The Netherlands Police Academy provides knowledge for police practice and police education in the Netherlands. With this knowledge we help Police Officers, teachers and students of the Netherlands Police Academy in their work. The Public Prosecution Service, the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee also use our knowledge. We are quite proud of that. Certain knowledge is publicly accessible.

Reliable and findable

In addition to providing education, offering knowledge is an important and legal task of the Netherlands Police Academy. Knowledge is only useful if it is correct. And it must be current, relevant and understandable. As employees of the Netherlands Police Academy, we ensure this. We do this together with substantive experts. In our kennisbank, Police Officers, teachers and students will find knowledge about the work of the Netherlands Police. Universities of applied sciences and employees of organizations with which the Netherlands Police collaborate also have access. The kennisbank contains work instructions, tips on what to do in a situation, and information about laws and regulations. But also examples of forms and links to important programs. Mediatheek

The Mediatheek (a media library) has a large collection of knowledge about and for the work of the Netherlands Police. A large number of these sources, such as research reports, scientific articles, theses and books, are available online. Everyone can view many sources. Some information is only accessible to Police Officers.

This knowledge base is only for Netherlands Police employees and organizations with which the police collaborate. You need an account to log in. Here, Netherlands Police employees (and partners) will find explanations about laws and rules that they can use in their work. Teachers at the Netherlands Police Academy use this knowledge in their lessons. Employees and students can also ask legal questions.

Profchecks is our 'serious game' especially for Police Officers. They can use this to test their legal knowledge. Serious games have a purpose other than entertaining someone.
