The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie; NVAO) has renewed the accreditation of three programmes offered by the Netherlands Police Academy: two master’s programmes and one bachelor’s programme.

The NVAO is an organisation that safeguards the quality of higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders in an expert and independent manner. The NVAO is responsible for the official accreditation of educational programmes. More information can be found on the NVAO website.

The programmes for which the accreditation is renewed are:

  • Bachelor of Policing
  • Master of Crisis and Public Order Management
  • Executive Master of Tactical Policing

The Master of Criminal Investigation, which also already existed, received a positive decision too. However, this decision was subject to certain conditions. Some elements of the curriculum should be improved, for instance, as should the way students are tested. Efforts are currently underway to achieve this.
